Good News....we're back for Easter!

You may have heard the good news by now that we have been given the green light to go ahead and meet together in person for our Sunday gatherings in St Donard’s Community Church. We shall have a few more Sundays where church will still be online but we are able to gather together again in person for Easter and personally I cannot wait!

Easter services will take place on Good Friday at 7.30pm and Easter Sunday at 6.30pm

What does this mean?

Firstly if you are not able to join us, whether because you are shielding or just don’t feel comfortable to do so at the moment then that is fine; that is OK. We will miss you but we understand. We will still try to serve and provide for you the best we can with CD and DVD recordings and we shall post service recordings online. However, recordings will no doubt come to you a bit later in the week and they may not be of the same quality that you have been receiving to date. The reason for that is quite simply we don’t have the people nor the resources to have our in person gathering and at the same time record and stream. I would love that to be different but we will do our best to ensure that no one misses out.

Secondly, for those of you who will join us in person, well as I say,  I can’t wait to see you again. We shall be returning to the new normal we were used to before Christmas. That means;

  • Social distancing will still be in place, meaning you can only sit with those in your household bubble.

  • Hand hygiene and the use of hand sanitiser will still be required upon entry to the church building.

  • Masks must also be worn for the duration of the service unless you are medically exempt from doing so.

  • Need to fill in a Keeping one another safe slip just in case we need to contact you.

  • Coming into church, please wait to be shown to a seat and when leaving please do so row by row.

  • There will be no standing around inside or outside the church. Again this is all so we can keep one another safe.

  • To help keep one another safe booking is advised and can be done via the events section of our website or by contacting us directly.

Folks, on the whole this is good news and so can I encourage to come back and join us and if you have never been with us before can I especially encourage you to come and join us here at St Donard’s Community Church. We would love to met you, catch up with you again, we would love to have you with us.

Until then there is also some good news for families in the village for we have been busy putting together some family night in packs. If you haven’t received one yet and would like one, get in touch and we would love to drop one in with you.

All good news folks, things are heading the right way but still in these times can I encourage you to consider the greatest news of all as we approach Easter; that is that we have a Saviour, in Jesus who has come to his people, to save his people, we have a King in Jesus who promises to with his people through all the ups and downs of this life, and we have a hope in Jesus that is like no other. I pray that if you know that you will share it and if you don’t know this hope in Jesus then that you will come to know it and more importantly know him as we at St Donard’s Community want to help to connect people together and to connect people together in Christ.
